The 55th International October Conference on Mining and Metallurgy, organized annually, aims at providing a forum for presentation and discussion of scientific research, technological development and practice on the subjects of geology, mining, metallurgy, material science, technology, environmental protection, energy efficiency and related engineering topics.

The Conference is organized jointly by the Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor and the Technical Faculty in Bor, the University of Belgrade. Firstly, it was a national conference, then a conference with international participation and since 2002 it has been organized as an international conference.

The 55th IOC will be held in October 15 – 17, 2024 in Kladovo, (Serbia), city in Eastern Serbia (about 250 km south-east of Belgrade).

The topics of the 55th IOC will cover the following fields:

  • Surface mining,
  • Mineral processing,
  • Extractive metallurgy,
  • Metal processing,
  • Materials science,
  • Inorganic technology,
  • Environmental engineering,
  • Industrial engineering,
  • Recycling technologies,
  • Energetics,
  • Manufacturing technologies,
  • Quality management,
  • Software engineering applications,
  • Mechatronics, Machining, Design and Construction,
  • Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering, and
  • other related fields.

The Conference work will be organized in sections, including the plenary lectures, section lectures, oral and poster presentations.

The Conference Proceedings will be published including only the papers accepted by the Scientific Committee.

The Conference Proceedings will only include the papers accepted by the Scientific Committee. The papers should be written in English, max. 4 pages, typed by Microsoft Word (*.docx; *.doc), font Times New Roman 12 pt, A4 paper format (all margins 2.5 cm), single spaced, tables – Microsoft Word format, figures – .gif, .tif, .jpg format.

The papers should be organized into following sections: Abstract (up to 100 words), Keywords, Introduction, Experimental, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement and References. The title of the paper together with names of authors and their addresses should be given at the beginning of the text. The template is available on the web site of the Conference. The authors can prepare their papers in extended form and submit them as the full-length research papers in the international journal: Mining and Metallurgy Engineering Bor, as well as in the national journal Bakar/Copper, after reviewing and appropriate revisions.

The Conference language will be English.

An exhibition will be held during the Conference, which will be a good opportunity for the companies operating in the fields related to the Conference topics, to introduce their products and services to the wider public. It will be open throughout the Conference. Details will be sent to the companies interested in participation.
